When adding SB or MP to stop glands or bait meat from further tainting, how long does it take for them to quiet down? Or do you wait for the burping to stop when opening the jar lid?

I add SB and MP both in after I get the taint I want. 3 days in hot weather. Glands either get "the fix" immediately or get rotted down completely. Then I put them in a vented container and let it age a year for bait and a month for fresh preserved glands. After that I add anything else I want and store in a sealed container.
