How old is it, Maybe has a lifetime warranty It's original from 1970. I have owned the house for over 30 years. Warranty is not an issue.

Sometimes you can refill the window with inert gas and reseal it. Might be cheaper.

So many variables...
What brand window? A Marvin Signature series is a far cry from a lumberyard special and is 3 or 4x as much cost.
Standard size vs custom size = easy way to run the material price up 50%.
Low E?
Argon filled?
Clad exterior or wood?
Does labor include removal/disposal?
Does labor include exterior flashing, caulking and paint (if not clad)?
Does labor include interior trim, paint and possible drywall touch-up?
For labor and material on a complete install of a decent window, $1600 doesn't sound bad...
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

I'd look for vinyl clad rather than exposed wood. I need to match the one next to it and the 2 sets of patio doors on either side. This is a large bank of windows facing the lake.
