Can anyone help with an ID on these two traps and any sort of value. Helping a widow sell her late husbands traps and don’t want to undervalue something if there collectors. Thanks

Bigelow killer and #40 Blake & Lamb. I am not sure of the value.

Both have some collector value.

The Bigelow will depend on size. What is the diameter of the trap?

The B&L appears to have factory teeth. That will increase the value. Maybe $15.00 or so, based on what I can see in the picture.

Is the wingnut on the B&L from the factory? (original)

Those don't appear to me to be factory teeth, look more like nails welded on.

Yes. Common on double under springs from a certain time period. Not sure what that time period is but I bet snakecollector would know. smile

Would need a better picture of the underside of the jaws to know for sure about the teeth.

The teeth on B&L double unders were called “Seminole teeth”. Not sure why but they did look a lot like bent over nails.

Hopefully hankit will post another picture.

The seminole teeth went through the jaws, there should be nubs on top of the jaws where they went thru.

I do not have a lot of Blake & Lamb reference material, but the #40 Blake & Lamb double under spring was advertised in the mid 1950, with and without seminal teeth, 4 teeth on the dog jaw and 5 on the loose jaw.
