I'm guessing the reason you like tangibles is not because you're Scrooge McDuck and want to swan dive into gold/silver coins but more likely you don't fully trust others to custody your wealth/valuables and you highly regard private property rights.

Well, me too. That's why I love Bitcoin so much. I can (and do) easily custody in such a manner than even a State actor would have a very difficult time stealing from me. Same with moving to a new jurisdiction, if needed. I'm also easily able to assay my holdings myself using a cheap mini computer and open source software.

Taking Musk at his words, its weird to me how he (via his company Tesla) owns 1.5Billion USD worth of BTC yet doesn't understand it. He makes the complete rookie mistake of conflating Bitcoin's energy usage with its on-chain transactions. The energy usage secures the network as a whole at all times (including Tesla's 43k BTC), not individual transactions. Also, many transactions are now happening on 2nd layers. Unless maybe he does understand it but is purposely spreading lies to use hos weird cult-like celebrity status to move markets.

I'm hoping he puts his money where his mouth is and dumps his BTC. Short term the price would surely take a hit but a long term cleanse of this big gov carbon credit crony would be fantastic.

I would not be surprised to see the SEC or similar start to look at Musk with an eye toward market manipulation.

Pretty clear that he is trying to tweet his way to profitability at TSLA.

If it weren't for selling RIN's to refiners and other car companies and the BTC on his balance sheet, TSLA would not show a profit from building cars.

Won't happen (in any meaningful way). The SEC (Fed Gov) and Musk are on the same team. This team simply wants more power/more control.

Musk plays the part of weird genius out to save the world in the name of "green" energy and in return gets direct access to the biggest honeypot the world has even known, the US Dollar.

I don't think Elon owns Bitcoin himself. That big purchase was by Tesla which is a publicly traded company.
