Maybe the Japanese are honored to have a beetle named after them. It can work both ways. On a side note, remember how savage the Japs were to our troops on the Bataan Death March? Japanese beetles act similar to my roses in a cruel and destructive way.

The woke bug folks should have renamed them Liberal Moths...they crawl around, mess up their world, crawl away and hide away for awhile, then take off for a few years...after the world returns to normal, the Liberal Moths come back and mess everything up again This post won the internet today.

years ago they sprayed some sort of virus that only affects gypsy moths, we now have none! I think they still spray something around here once in a while

The forest service was wanting to spray whole lots of forest around here including private land as well. They had done studies to find the most populated sections of moths. Some people voiced concerns and the project is on hold for now.
