So last year I picked up alot of ground. Trying to figure out How many sets I should set at all locations .
Ile be targeting coon , fox , coyote at all locations and mink , muskrat, beaver at a few of them.

This is What I'm thinking. Am I setting to light or to heavy ? What you guys think?

Property sizes I'm trapping
20 acre river bottom. . Thinking 6 dps 4 canine few 220's and snairs on beaver slide

300 acre river bottom with creek. 12 dps 8 canine 6 muskrat mink sets and 2 beaver

7 acre medow corn on one side woods on 2 sides road on the other 6dps and 2 canine

420 acre wooded cattle pasture with crops on 2 sides and 3 wet weather creek beds and pond. Think 24 dps , femce line snare, 8 canine sets , muskrat and mink sets around pond

300 acre farm mix of row crop, woods and cattle ground. 12 dps 6 canine sets and snares

50 acre 28 being in hay the rest is wooded swamp ground with small creek 12dps , 6 canine, 6 mink sets

30 acre hay field buts up to road on 2 sides and woods on 2. 6dps 4 canine

110 acre wooded cattle pasture full of hills and valleys. 12 dps, snares, and 6 canine sets

I would think target population would be a better guide than parcel size.

We are over run with critters. In my area . I no where 6 fox dens are in a half mile radius. Me and neighbors are having predator problems with our chickens.

How many of the permissions do you plan on having set up at anyone given time? Also how long do you plan to stay it each location before moving your line if you will be moving your line. Each species would vary a bit for sure.

Size and acreage probably is not what you want to use as your main focus. As stated above look for sign and set where you see the most sign. Also if you set up good areas earlier say for coon and yotes, it may be good to go back after a few weeks or month or so as those good areas will fill in again. Also if those 1200 acres roughly ( two square miles) are all next to each other there will be less fur then if they are separated by a few miles or so.

Usually I set all my locations up in high traffic areas 1st then move around to different area of each property as catch drops. Properties are within a 20 mile radius. Ile set them all up at beginning of each season and keep at it all season
