My mother cooked up chicken feet occasionally. It has been many years since I ate it, but I think they were boiled, peeled, de-nailed, and then fried with the rest of the bird.

My mother in law loved them, and when I had birds I kept them for her. They are a pain to clean up, but the folks who starved during the war love them. They must add some nice aspect to the broth in a chicken soup because of the gelatin, but after I cleaned them a few times for her I quit. Funny that Wolfdog posted this as I just roasted a storebought bird yesterday, and like many here it was sold with head and feet.

I saw that show you mentioned and decided I would like to try them. Wal-Mart had a 5 pound bag of them, so I cooked up a mess of them just like had been shown on the show. That was the nastiest thing I can remember ever trying to eat. I threw 4.999 lbs away.

I had a person that was a manager for Tyson, he told me that tyson made more per chicken off of the feet by shipping the feet overseas than they make on any other part of the chicken. He stated if you raised chickens for them and the feet got hard that they would doc you for every bird. That's true. Poultry feet are where the money is@. I read an article in Watt poultry USA about chicken feet recently.
