I've been catching nuisance ground hogs. One has no fur on it's stomach. I caught another today with decent fur. Do you tan them? It's not like you can catch them mid winter.. Just don't want to waste them.

Just a weekend trapper...

Fly tiers like em. They're like a giant squirrel tail.

I know there is some demand for the leather to make drum heads. Not much but some.

The best Hogs are caught when they come out of hibernation In the spring.
Me and the grand sons caught 23 In 4 days just last week and none of them were worth skinning.
We also caught 7 muskrats. WE noticed a few very faint trails and thought they were chuck trails but they were rat trails. I was a bit surprised at the summer fur quality.

A taxidermy skinned chuck In prime condition might bring you more money then mid western coyote.

Yep, I fed a bunch of folks groundhog tacos a few weeks ago. They liked them!

Check you local laws...
If you have a Zoo or Fox farmer nearby, you may find an outlet there.

*if you look close, I forgot to release the safety latch on left spring, but got lucky with 3 little ones.

That’s a lot of predator bait in the back of that rig!

I like to tan them, then I like to hide them in hard to see places in the fields when I invite people over to shoot groundhogs.
Tannirite inside just makes it even more fun
My friends love me. Lol

I got on them early and had em in check, now they are filtering in from neighbors.
Gravy for ADC men here.
Consistent 15-20 a year on just my place.

I have one location I have been trapping for 6 years both spring and fall and I take around 10 or 12 both In the spring and fall. They just keep migrating In each year. It's a big area and it's hard to find all the dens.
