It seems to me if worried about trap inside jaw measurement the Harris trap is best choice the 5.5 is 5 1/2 outside to outside before lamination being perfectly round and all with absolutely no dead space on the pan both jaw hold down and (cheaper than the alfalfa I believe )???? No grinding ready to go out the box own swivel system. Might look into it Harris traps.
A plug for a buddy a coyote trap for coyote trappers. Imo

He's going to have a cast jaw version of them in the future. No dead spots on his pan system either.

Curious how much they cost and where you can buy them?

I saw the wolf version at the Montana convention and I’ve wanted to try the coyote size real bad. Yes, they are expensive, but they are built like tanks and made 100% in the USA

Lots of moving parts, google a video of Harris Centerfire waxing problems. Wax gets in those moving parts and causes them not to work right, have to take the trap apart after waxing and clean. That says to me that other stuff might cause the same issues. I'll stick to simpler traps, even if you have to deal with different pan tension on different points on the pan.

Well made, but in my opinion the solution is worse than the problem.

Cost depends on which size and how many you buy. Cheaper than Sterlings or Jakes.
