I find the hardest part is keeping traps working in our conditions until they come back around. I have pretty much zero luck "getting in front of them," although I know a couple guys who have good luck doing so. So I end up setting where they have been and waiting until they come back, trying to keep the traps working without too much disturbance to the set.
Depending on the year and conditions this can be a battle.

I dont know anything about wolves. Have trapped bobcats in deep snow and i like a #5 LS for that. For dirt traps I like having both jaws locked down. I cant tell from a picture whether I want to try a new design or not but nothing truly new has come out since glen sterling put his trap out for sale.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Danny I agree , not much new under the sun.
Glen was ahead his time imo.
Lots of look likes, but have not found any that work alike like sterling does.

Hi everyone! My name is Charlie Fite, I designed the trap you’re looking at, it’s really a very simple trap, the solid base keeps the springs from freezing down, the music wire lever is NOT a part of the trigger, it just hold the trap flat, it’s super fast and holds! Inside jaw spread is 6.750.

Nice looking traps Charlie. It's an interesting design. I like how that wire holds down the loose jaw. I also like the wire levers.

Also Charlie, here's another post where people are judging the trap design based on a picture that they didn't study very well and could use some clarification.... click here --> https://trapperman.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/7100217/wolf-trap

"The next Sterling" is a tall order.

That said, Charlie Fite has a reputation among many of the coyotes elite, so IMO, it'll be worth looking into !
