Please take your shots at me here, and leave my holster thread alone.

For those who missed the prior controversy, I posted a complaint about Midway's service department's insistence that I return bullets they misrepresented at my own cost. I got three kinds of responses:

1. There were Midway fans who couldn't grasp that even an honest company can make a mistake--but shouldn't shift the cost of their own mistake to the customer.

2. There were cowards who don't like me, but know they couldn't take me on in a one-on-one debate, so took the opportunity to pile on.

3. Those wiser than I who pointed out that postage was a trifling thing to complain about.

I agree with the third category: it was a small matter, and I should have just let it go.

But I'm right in principle.

For an alternative view, in past 6 months, I've put together a working setup to reload for 4 calibers, and a lot of that has come from Midway. Hundreds of $ worth and probably 15 or 20 different items. I did make mistake and ordered a wrong item..........yet they took it back no questions asked. I live close enough I dropped it off at customer pickup while picking up another order.

Better still, if the have it and the order is filled, I can normally pick it up within an hour of order being placed.

When it comes to customer service, Midway gets no complaint from me.

Fair enough, HayDay. I was a loyal customer myself for years, and probably spent several thousand dollars there.

It's over when each side states their opinion, and has a chance to reply to points made or new issues. There's no point in repeating yourself.

There's very little possibility of changing someone's mind in one of these internet debates.

Did the moderators remove posts on the holster thread? I never saw any "pests" on it.

For what it is worth I've always had good service from Midway, but I've never had them send me something I had to send back, either.

There were some posts there about Midway that now seem to be gone. They are the ones who resurrected my Midway issue, not I.

How can that be? With your use copious use of the ignore or block feature, it shouldn't be a problem. Unless as many suspect, you're full of yourself and couldn't bear not knowing what is said. How small of a personality......

Didn't you order the wrong bullets and Midway would not pay the postage back? I can't remember for sure, but it seems like that is what it was.

Midway failed to mention that some heavy Sierra bullets....may been 105 grain....... (243).......which are also the same as 6mm......needed a 1:9 twist to stabilize. Bullets apparently intended for some 6mm BR type guns......not an actual 243 with 1:10 twist. But something I would think an experienced reloader and shooter would already know.

What is also true is Sierra's own website mentions twist for some bullets, does not mention it for others.

As for returns, process is to go to Midway website, log in, find ordered item, fill out a return slip and they have you fill out a pre-printed return label. I think it may be postage paid, but they would then ding your refund for cost to have it shipped back to them.

So policy would be you pay shipping on orders under $50......free shipping or orders over $50 (I have a set of dies coming now that shipped for free) and you pay return shipping. Seems pretty straight forward.

Negative attention is better than no attention at all. Grandchildren do it all the time.

The last 5 or so years Midway has treated me well. When they make a mistake I try to treat them well in return.
