Could someone post some pictures of the trigger mechanism of the European egg trap for marten?

I've never handled one personally, but I believe that the longer bar running from the outside of the trap to the middle, hooks under the egg holding mechanism. The long bar also has a hook which holds the jaw open. When the marten pulls on the egg, the long bar slips free, and moves up, also resulting in the hook moving back, resulting in the jaw coming free of the hook and firing.

This is just one example of an egg trap. Different brands have differences in design and mechanisms.

Yes, interesting video, however, I think we could show them a much easier way to catch a marten (and make the set selective for marten). Also, it would take a truck to haul around about six of those set-ups.
