We may have to cancel our fall High School trap shooting season due to no shotgun ammo. Our supplier has none and no shipments in sight. They said start writing letters to Federal and Winchester. What a bummer, the kids look so forward to it. i get the email for federal youth shooting sports ordering , the fall youth shooting sports order opened and closed meeting quota the same day about 9 am to noon and they had sold all that they had allocated. when you couldn't get rifle or pistol ammo people bought shot shells like mad now you can get some rifle and pistol ammo and not the shot shells you want you could get 209 primers for much of the shortage 2020 and early 2021 now you can't find 209 primers they can't keep up with all the demand and seem to get ahead in one and fall behind in the other I ordered the shot shells in spring for youth trap and did get our order so we were able to shoot , we don't have a fall season just spring the gun shortage seems to be over the ammo shortage I don't think we are out of it yet , just a little better than when it was the worst I got that too, seems like a publicity stunt to me, over before it started.

You could order everything you need off of Federal's website right now I'll look into it, thanks. Most of the ammo is sitting in Minneapolis at there warehouse in cans, no idea of the holdup, very similar to the lumber issues.

Wally World still has only the same f boxes of 28 and 16 ga shotgun shells they've had for 6 months.

When large pistol primers become available the shortage will be over. I could have purchased as many as I could afford yesterday. Shelf was full of large pistol primers @ $4.99/100. Do you want some?

The ammo is getting more plentiful here.
Reloading components are still hit or miss... Anything magnum is almost impossible to get.
Local guy has had a couple thousand 209's on the shelf for a few weeks... Figured they would be gone quick but they haven't moved.

I do believe the manufactures are starting to catch up.
A couple months ago I was able to get 10,000 shotgun primers. Chedittes, not my first choice, but, I take what I can find.
About a month ago I was able to get two cases of loaded trap shotshells. Rios, not my first choice, but, I take what I can find. I actually have another couple cases on backorder, but that needs to be shipped by 8/12, or will be automatically cancelled.
This morning I was able to get five pounds of fast powder for trap shooting. Ramshot Competition, not my first choice, but, I take what I can find.
I do believe the manufactures are starting to catch up.

It certainly seems like someone is controlling the supply of all things ammo. Is there a conspiracy going on out there by the Feds?

I don't believe the government is behind the shortages, DIRECTLY.
With all the riots last summer and the government failing to deal with them 7million new gun owners were created. There ain't no way the current production could keep up, and they sure weren't going to build new facilities for that temporary surge.
Sooner or later supply will be back.
