Looking for some new skunk baits/lures. I’ve tried a good many adc bait and lures. Also tried marshmallows bananas hot dog cat food cheese puffs. So far cheese puffs and marshmallows work the best.

I’ve caught 38 skunks this summer in cages/tubes. Wish I would keep better notes, but I’d guess 30 of them are in blindset cages or positive sets.. I beginning to think baited cages are not worth my time and I’ll just blind set the cage or do positive sets

We rarely use bait, but when I have to, I use this.

In the rare instance that doesn't attract them, KFC bones from a specially purchased lunch hooks them.

Looking back, I probably have 3 or 4 techs that have never trapped with bait. I'd probably have to text them instructions on how to do it.

Been having fair amount of luck with marshmallows and or dry cat food.

I only use bait when there’s no den on the property. Typically mini marshmallows. I like the fruity ones because they taste good. I use a lot of Bobs skunk trailing scent too.

The groundhog trailing scent works especially well.

I use the dogfood that I have for my cur dogs, usally a high fat, high protein dry kibble. Works really good with the cage traps.

Sardines, other fish baits, and cat food work really well on skunks but also attract cats. Skunk problems I work generally have cats around, so I don't even waste my time with them. Mini marshmallows with some of Bob J. Grub Stake bait works really well. Also a slice of bread smeared with peanut butter tore up into small piece's works really well if you're wanting to avoid the cats plugging up your cages.
