I was cutting hay today and flushed 9 coyotes out of the field, and it made me itch to get some steel in the ground. I’ll probably start cleaning traps tomorrow since we’re taking a one day break from harvest so the balers can catch up

Finished up waxing my traps this afternoon. Wax sand was made several weeks ago when we had such beastly hot weather. A bit early for scouting but I'm still checking things out and even got a few new farms to trap after deer hunting this fall. Did some minor mods on my camper earlier so that is ready to go. Bought way too much stuff at the national and state conventions and still looking forward to Coyote Days in a few weeks! Fall can't seem to get here soon enough, like a kid waiting for Christmas!
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

Been doing some looking around the deeper ponds in the area. Finding a lot of rat bank runs. The shallow ponds are dried up and I think the rats are moving to deeper water ponds and lakes now. Have seen a few even hit on the roads. Also starting to get a few coyotes on trail cameras. I am ready, just need a little bait and lure. Bring on the fall!!! I'm jealous of you northern guys with the rats, mink, etc. The variety sounds like a lot of fun.

This year we are going back to dry land predators. In continuing on with the thread theme, I spent $300 with Marty at Keg Creek yesterday getting bait, lure, and urine. I see it as an investment in making memories with my 13 year old son.

Same here on memories with my sons. I am actually trying to work remotely from the line for a month this winter. They'll be there most of the time. Fingers crossed I can pull it off. That's a lot of supplies!

Marty's showtime is big producer for me.
Making waxed dirt today, canning tomatoes, and spraying weeds. Always something trapping-related going on in background for me.
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

We have another lure order coming in the mail yet and another 80 gallons of waxed dirt to make yet. We have family in from Ohio and Missouri this weekend but still managed to add some creek chubs and gar to the freezer for bait.
