Losers at home eatin chips Shamefully, Ohio is the same way now. There's been reports on the news that more companies showed up at two local job fairs, to hire people, than people showed up to be hired. The local Walmart, Kroger and gas stations went from 24 hours to short hours of operation. A lot of small businesses, including many restaurants, are now closed one or two days a week. Strangely, a lot of businesses are closed on Tuesday now. I am curious why they picked Tuesday to close. Keith

employers wont raise pay rates. if they offered more money and benefits the whole "cant find any help" story goes away. American blue collar workers have been defunded and our benefits have slowly been chiseled down to near nothing. I work two jobs, have for most of my life & it ain't like we live high on the hog. class A cdl & heavy equipment operator. They did by me.

employers wont raise pay rates. I'm not sure about this. The company I work has over 1000 employees in upstate NY. The hire on pay has raised to roughly what an employee with 15 years of service makes. Last I heard they hired 15-20 employees company wide in approx. 2 months. Many employees saw a 50% raise and others stayed at the rate they've been at. Starting pay now is $19 to $22 per HR depending on the job, guys in my plant were making $12.50 now making $20+ an HR overnight.

One phrase you seldom hear today is, “ he’s a hard worker” hard work is for suckers today but getting paid is the only goal for many. Long term employee’s are some of the worst for doing less and thinking they should alway be paid more.
If your willing to do the work others will let you do it for them and will try to get you to do more for them if the can make it happen. LOL

No Americans to fill to fill 10 million jobs? Just open the boarders, prolly plenty of folks in the world willing to work! The dems plan is coming together perfectly! They don’t want to pay them either they just want cheap labor.

I don’t know where you work, but my deer hunting partner is a operating engineer for a construction company and he grosses over $4000/ week. How much more would someone have to have to go back to work ?? IMO it has nothing to do with how much an employer can pay, it’s about no work ethic today, and easier to suck the government teet.

I gotta agree with Sqish. I remember back in the late 70's and early 80's when finding a job was a full-time job in itself! I can remember going to, literally, EVERY single employer around that I thought may have any type of position I may be able to do, or learn to do, and filling out a job application....if they were even accepting new ones. I had all manner of crappy jobs that I would have loved to not have to work, but my babies needed to eat, and did so repeatedly. Garbage man (surpisingly not really a bad job), construction laborer, pulp cutter, press operator, cow manure shoveler, to name a few. All to tide us over until I could make a go at full-time taxidermy. I would have much rather gone fishing, but a working guy works, that's the deal I learned from my folks, and them from theirs. Enough with the handouts to all but the helpless.
