Don't make sense ? At the convention at 1 demo I made it to, can't rrmber name but say everyone hope for $10 average coon , wishful thinking , half that or $3 bucks or maybe $2 average green at best

Yup. And if you keep on selling them for $3 next season they might be $1.50

Gas is up and monthly bills are up because of inflation . Items you need will continue to go up until the government stops printing money and giving it away.

I’ll keep trapping. Yeah, the low prices are definitely a bummer but i believe the animals need to be managed anyway. I’ll be the manager and claim more territory as the trapper numbers go down. When the price of fur skyrockets, I’ll fur trap full time!!!
All jokes aside, I enjoy trapping and will continue.

I have never relied on trapping as an income but have always thought I could sustain myself off it. Sure I would be doing some ADC work along with fur but a good work ethic and a little research on where to sell fur and I believe it could still be done. If everything goes as planned I will be taking at least 45 days to trap hard this year and I will know then if I could live off it. Don't worry, I have saved enough money to pay all bills and living expenses for 2 months so I can't lose.

Wish I had more time to trap....

If your truck is worn out, you are afraid to spend any money on repairs, fear for the sheriff taking your pride and joy and having yourself talked down to the point of $2 coon why don't you save your pennies and just stay home. Your truck won't cost you anything, your hip boots won't leak and make your feet cold, and your quest for the ultimate gauntlets can finally be retired. You can stay by the fire and gaze out the window daydreaming about running you big line, fondle your fury pair and leave the trapping to those who will run regardless of prices who enjoy it and not belly ache all the time. I rarely degrade anyone, but if this were my daily outlook on life, I think I would make a change or hang it up, literally.....

Well with the free time and money saving you're going to do you could probably snag a different job. You know one that isn't trying to kill you off every other day or that treats the others better than you. It sounds like you'll have free time now and you don't need time off for trapping. Of course this is all crazy talk and thoughts on my end.
And I agree with Savell keep a close eye on those dirty cops that are trying to get your truck. The cop that snags that truck to sell it at auction will be worshipped and be envied by all of his or her colleagues.

That's exactly my plan. The river is 5 minutes from my house maybe 2 miles each way.

No water trapping here is public, when you are floating on the river you are on public land but as soon as you get out of the boat or drive a stake in the riverbed you're on private ground.

You just gotta get those permissions coonman, I'm working on permissions for a 5 mile stretch that will cost me virtually nothing but time to trap. Where there's a will there's a way!

Gotta live up to the nickname...
