What do you use to stir bait? Currently using a long T-stake to stir a couple of half full 4 gal buckets ... can't see that being practical for stirring multiple, full 5 gal buckets.

Try a paint mixer you use with a power drill.

I use a sharp shooter shovel, or I think some call them tile spades.

I try not to fill buckets past 3/4 full, so they are a bit easier to stir. I find it's hard to get the bottom turned over when really full.

But I don't make giant batches of bait either, just a couple of buckets at a time.

Even if letting bait or lure age in 5 gallon bucket I will mix in large trash can and yes tile spades are great. I have burnt up many a drill using devices for mixing paint ext , cement mixer gets it done very good.

Paint mixer or a beater attachment welded on the end of a piece of rod.

Thanks for the suggestions all.

I'm investigating a drill powered x HD cast cement and sand mixer. I was hoping for something in stainless steel. Do you think di-chromium zinc plated cast iron may have a detrimental effect on the bait?
