i also recommend the DVD for those that cannot find the written material as the K-9 snow trapping section is very educational. I also really like the old school sliding pole for beaver, I guess they did not have rebar sliding back in the late 30s/

Thanks for sharing. I have always liked his work.
I do not have the Den Hunting yet or, the Raccoon, Opossum, Skunk and Weasel one. I do not have
the lure formula book. Many years ago I came upon a typed packet of some of the formulas he sold to trappers.

What are the bottom papers?

Mac

I have a couple of those but would like to have all of them

I remember a few years ago someone mentioned reprinting them and Asa said he had no objections to someone doing so but no one has com forward to do so, their in the public domain due to age so free to reprint

At the least I would like to see them put out on the Gutenberg project so their information is not lost over the years, their already hard enough to find as it is

henpecked1 Thank you for sharing. Asa also gave me Herb Lenons trapline Diary from the time frame when the books were written. I hope to share the diary, books, many many articles Herb and his wife wrote on www.lenonlures.com soon.www.lenonlures.com

The diary is amazing as it list temps, what he caught on a day, what he received for fur plus expense and other really neat stuff. It gives me goose bumps when I read it as I trapped many of the same roads and rivers
Mr. Lenon did nearly a 100 years ago. Both Asa and Herb were very head of there time and amazing people. Seen Asa during Escanaba show and hope to see him again on my way to Kinross show in Sept. Asa Lenon gave me his whole family snowshoes and I donated one pair with other trappers stuff at the trappers shack at Lumber Mans monument in northern Michigan. Thank Henpecked1 for stopping by and saying hi at recent convention.

The cost of reproducing the dvds has really came down and I have given 100's of copies Herb Lenon's Classic Dvd away to young folks and customers in recent years. It was transferred from 8mm tape to Dvd by Asa Lenon Everyone should see the first trapping film ever filmed.

John, that DVD should be in very ones collection: there is so much information in such a short video. Fast efficient methods for coyotes and fox. The water portion is a huge bonus, showing fast efficient drowning methods and a couple sets that should be in every trappers tool bag. The written material is so hard to come by and finding original methods that have not been watered down is so refreshing. Trappers always want to know the history of where a method started and this video pretty much put it to rest. Herb Lenon was one of the originators and copied by many: Lenon, Mast, Ehn and Lynch were the key to todays modern wolfers and should be recognized for their contributions. The others were very good but these four were first.

If you are contributing to this thread about Herb Lenon Books please PM me with your address and I will send you copy of Herbert Lenon's Classic Trapping DVD no charge. I will honor 10 Free Copies.

Paul Dobbins helped convert from VHS to DVD and the original 8mm was transferred to VHS. I will be checking with Asa Lenon about putting a copy of the books for foiks to read on LenonLures.com this September on my way to Kinross Show.

@John-Chagnon my boys and I met you at the NTA, before we left we had a fistful of DVD's you so graciously gave to them. They were happy some campers. Your great passion for trapping and spending time with your grandkids doesn't go unnoticed. Keep up the good work. I'm sure the Lenons are ecstatic in the job you are doing. To all on Trapperman, don't forget to patronize PCSOutdoors.com. John gives a lot back. Thanks as always John!!!
