I don't think fur trapping and profit go into the same sentence anymore. Not even with all the skulls, baculum, etc. mixed in. If you really put a pencil to it other than a reserved few with minimal overhead the only way to make a profit trapping in this fur market is ADC work.

Find rich land owners that want critters gone and charge accordingly.

Find taxidermist that are in the market for critters and keep them happy.

Head to certain parts of town and sell smaller critters if legal. When it’s all said and done and you’re getting about $35-50 per coon and possum, then your cutting cost and making a profit.

Nothing wrong with getting a few hundred for a bobcat and $60-75 for coyotes.
Our put up has gotten us a primo price from buyers and decent at auction in this mess.

That kind of fur doesn't exist in Arkansas. At least not very often!!

Sorry to hear that.

Easier said than done- even landowners with some money wouldnt giive you a plug nickel around here for ADC work. Have to go to the bigger cities for that and to me that aint trapping.

Pretty sure that is not allowed in PA.

I know that aint allowed in PA.

Why isn’t that trapping? Or how is that not trapping.
An owner contacts you or you make contact and work out a deal to trap. You scout property and find the best locations. You set traps. You catch critters. What am I doing any different than you do?

Oh it is trapping, just not the same to me. Not bashing it, just not something I would want to do. Probably because of the reasons I have llisted.
