I have one as I bought for test. I practice in my yard with it. One mole so far. I think it is best for the deeper tunnels.

I was hoping someone would know something about it. It brings up a lot of hits on a google search, but you are the 1st I know that's tried it.

Someone else on here likes to use them. I remember seeing them state it in a post in one of the mole trap topics. A competitor in my area uses them because I have seen them in a yard, so they must work or maybe they aren’t good at catching moles lol.

Every time I set one it falls over even though I try to build a mound around it.

That sounds like a pain, having to build a mound around it.

"Someone else on here likes to use them" Thats probably me, they are a good trap, there is a learning curve for sure, but no more than the out of sight or steves traps, all 3 work well in their own right, one place they shine is getting under a sidewalk, you can set them at an angle....I use all 3, the gopher hawks are a quick set up, which sometimes makes me lazy and in a hurry, I always remind myself not to rely on one trap alone, there are always so many variables in conditions, I will say for deep tunnels, it is a little easier to get down there with the gopher hawk, but if you catch one, you still have to dig it up

Interesting. I too like to have a variety of traps in my arsenal. I may have to get 1 of these. Thanks for the feedback so far.

Bought some to try. Might work ok on small mole but not good for our Townsend whoppers.
Bad design far as I am concerned.
Snare cage has three wire hooked to a ring made from light round stock that is on the bottom. The wires are equal distance apart where attached to the snare ring. One will always block the tunnel stopping the mole from getting very far into the snaring area. Trap would be better 4 wires. Two on each side of ring for stability leaving a good crawl through area to get the mole in a better killing spot. Wasted money for me.
Trapline are my go to now as outright are junk now.
Deep runs get dug out with a shovel. No problems. Easy and fast.

"Might work ok on small mole but not good for our Townsend whoppers.

That would be great.

I can't visualize what you mean by you have "to maintain" it.

The maintenance is largely in the two snare loops, it helps if you maintain them everytime you set one and see a need for it, I need to find a low cost go pro so I can film and show you what I mean, I dont mean a $40, I just cant afford the newer $300 or $400 ones, Or I should say, I wont pay that

Maybe you could put your smart phone in a selfie stick & poke it in the ground..or maybe get a friend to video you.
I want to see how you use this trap smile

There are several mole traps available to use and I have used most over the years. For size, weight and versatility it is hard to beat the Trap line mole traps. Like using any device using it effectively and setting them properly is the key element. That is a skill that can be taught and learned surprisingly fast by a good hands on individual.Others may be a work in progress. smile

The moles will tell you every time what you are doing wrong in setting any device. Once you run several big commercial jobs using these traps it is hard to use anything else. I know how much room and weight it takes in a truck to haul 30 - 40 dozen OOS traps as I use to carry many years ago.Now it is a couple 5 gal buckets of traps and a bundle of trap flags. Some of these gadget traps and those with wire loops/cinches etc. require some site maintenance over time as they get bent up easily when carrying a bunch of them.

My dad has done well with the GopherHawk. It's been a more difficult learning curve for myself. I'm in Pierce County.
I'd be willing to play cameraman just to get a better feel for this trap.

I ordered a go pro 5 and a hat clip, they should be here next week, understand, I'm not trying to push these traps on anybody, and Bob Jameson is correct in his views, as I said before, when Bob talks I listen....I only want to show my success in action with the gopher hawks, and I have had much

Understand, I still use the victors, and steve's traps, it depends on the customer and conditions, some customers are scared to let you set the clamp traps, Ive never caught a kid or a cat, some customers, they still are afraid for some reason....It is washington state, that should explain a lot
