This photo was posted on a local facebook page and was in a state forest. The face is obviously lynx but the coloration of the sides and belly look bobcat-ish. Im not well versed in lynx or what they look like in the summer so not sure if they are more brown in the summer.

Black tipped tail and large feet indicate lynx. Bobcat has three black bars across top of tail not a solid black tip. Face and colouration do look like bobcat though.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

Lynx-No doubt about it.

That could really change the trapping regs for a lot of northern MN. Sure would be concerned about those sightings if I lived and trapped on land i those areas.

Can they inter-breed?

Yes they can-I skinned one at the North Bay FHA convention years ago.
It looked like a lynx except for the feet-they had the dark coloration and were smaller than lynx-the meat was not white like a lynx either.

How'd a Texas Ocelot get all the way to MN?

Just kidding. laugh

I've caught bobcats with ears and tail somewhat similar but the MN cat looks like a cool cross cat of some flavor.

Our Texas cats have some ear tufts and black tails (somewhat)....

Mark I caught a Texas cat that looks just like that up here. Had it full body mounted. All those spots are amazing!
