Opioids are overprescribed in this country and the marketing by the big drug companies to the doctors was way over the top. My dentist tried to give me opioids when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. It made no sense and I turned it down, a couple of Tylenol a day is good enough. Opioids for a common broken bone. Why? When I was a kid we got by fine without it. It was obvious to anyone that wanted to look that there were some things hinky going on and the drug companies ignored it. Like certain areas of the country using way more opioids than others.
