I have at least 6 they won't fill now as too old. Quite a hassle to get them retested and then only good for a couple years. Trade them for full ones somewhere that does to Blue Rino swap. Around here most gas stations and grocery stores have them.

You can also buy a converter from old to new but yes...if you can trade it in why not. It's only $20 for a 20# tank. I fill my own from a wet valve in a 500 gallon tank. Get ready folks! It's gonna be a long haul!

The tanks drifter has that they won't fill are 100 pounders. Not sure if anywhere swaps them in like that?

Today, propane primarily comes from domestic natural gas processing, especially since shale gas extraction has increased in recent decades. Today, close to 70 percent of the U.S. propane supply comes from natural gas processing here and in Canada.
Liquid components are recovered as natural gas is processed. In addition to propane, methane, butane and ethane are also produced.
Once propane is produced, it is shipped to bulk propane distribution centers by pipeline, tanker ship, railroad, truck or barge. From there, propane distributors bring it to local propane providers like LG Jordan.

I had 100 pound tanks , recertified a couple of years ago. Cost 30.00 each. They put a new valve, purged the tank restamped the date. They ware then good for 10 years. I bought a couple of exchange 100 pounders last year, as long as your exchange tank , was still valid dated, for about 100.00. Haven't seen this years price..
Bu y some canadian oil and gas stocks , this will offset your fuel bills. FRU, CVE, WCP.old243

From there, propane distributors bring it to local propane providers like LG Jordan. As a student working on my Masters Degree in geology, I was contacted to work at a propane storage facility. The propane was stored under ground in large salt cavities near Bath, NY until prices went up, when it was sold. My job was to extract soil gas from the area (in a large grid), to determine which storage cavities were leaking (due to faults) and should not be used. Interesting work!

That would be an interesting project. It would also prove that the leaks were no fault of your own. OMG, will you be here all week??
