I am 51, retired LE and it seems I have fallen apart since retirement. I am working a new job now that is somewhat physical and man its taking its tole, Anyway I go in for a laminectomy on Monday I have herniated L4/L5, they also said my back is full of arthritis, Im sure wearing that 30 lbs around my waist for 27+ years didn't have anything to do with that,

Anyone ever had back surgery? How did it go? I was told that I would be off work at least a month maybe 2.

There are a lot of variables but the big thing is psychical therapy and doing what the doctor says.
