Can anyone offer any tips or youtube videos with proper skinning/fleshing of feet for taxidermy-quality work. Not knowing what may be proper, I figure I better ask here before relying on just anyone's advice on youtube. Also, I'm curious how different species are handled, so any and all tips are appreciated, even bear, if I am lucky to harvest one of those in the future. I tried searching past threads on here but didn't have any luck. Thanks for any tips.

Too many variables to go into here but “very carefully” kind of sums things up! Beaver and otter are tricky because you need to split the webbing to the edge also, not just skin down to last joint on toes.

Honestly, all the best videos and tutorials in the world can only give pointers and guidelines. It's something you can only really learn by doing. Practice on critters you don't intend to sell for taxidermy purposes. Until you feel comfortable with it, just sell taxidermy specimens with the feet still attached. Make sure it's noted as such to the buyer so they know what they're getting.

Read the Fha fur handling manual.

Awesome - these were what I was hoping for, guys. Thank you. I don't know why I couldn't find that prior Trapperman post, but I figured there had to be one out there in the archives somewhere. Appreciate the tip of splitting the webbing too. Yep, I've been studying the FHA manual - all good stuff!
