A bull moose working a whitetail deer scrape. Never thought I would see this.

Very interesting, looks like curiosity maybe, or could be territorial.

I have game cams of bulls on deer scrapes here. Also have had pics of cow moose giving deer scrapes attention.
They don’t seem to work them very hard, right or wrong I always figured that was because the moose rut is over by the time the deer get real active. Maybe the young bulls stay worked up longer?

Great job catching it on video Bernie. I have a friend with a large property in the northern part of ND and I am shocked at the number of moose and elk on his property. Some serious trophy’s as well.

We had a town out west that a moose showed up at back a number of years ago. The following year, he came back with a friend! Where they came from, I never heard, but you wouldn't think of Ks as moose country either! Critters get around!

Lots of moose in North Dakota and the population has been expanding for years. Only residents can hunt them.

Hey you guys should not judge the mammal. It is clearly a “woke” mammal that is “pan species”. On this particular morning zee was a whitetail buck, today zee may be a mule deer doe. Who are we to make such horrid decisions for this beautiful brave beast..... laugh

Saw this one yesterday, Central ND. Not a real common sight for me, but I guess they're common to the area.

Another great picture. In the southern Saskatchewan farm fields where I goose hunt the moose are now more than plentiful. Stands to reason North Dakota would suit them as well. I’d be curious what crops they are eating in ND, hard to believe there are enough twigs and bark to keep them going in that country.

Most are north of I-94, not saying there aren't some south of 94 but I have never seen one. I've got quite a few picks of them, seen them just out side the city of Fargo, years ago Fargo's finest tried to put a bull down within town with there 9's....That boondoggle brought about a new policy.

Apparently those North Dakota moose haven't heard about the global warming that is blamed for killing all the moose in Minnesota?

Moose populations are doing great or expanding in areas that don't have a high population of wolves, but it's global warming that's killing them in the states that have wolves.

I have been in on a couple moose kills here in ND and as good as it gets is corn next to sun flowers for location. They hide in both and feed on both. When you open them up they are full of corn and sun flowers. He is a cow I shot a few years ago. One shot out of the 25-06, to the forehead. It was a meat hunt. I drove up to her and hooked a cargo strap around her neck. Drug her over to a good tree limb, threw the strap over and raised her up and tied her off. Back under her and let her into the PU with the guts in. Drove home 10 minutes and gutted her while she was in the PU with her butt down hill and hanging off the tail gate. I never even got blood in the pick up. She was feeding on a guy deer bait under his stand. I didn't want to gut her there.

Terrific Mark! Thanks on the food info.. all the years I’ve dropped corn piles for deer in the winter I’ve never seen moose come in on them. DNR says they eat 34lbs of food per day in winter, nearly double that in summer. Gotta do some serious damage to a planted field.
