Been looking into Michigan Tech university in Houghton, does anyone have any experience in the ecology or forestry studies? What are your options about this school?

Can't comment on the two programs you mentioned: but always considered their engineering curriculum top notch. Have friends that graduated their program. MTU engineering students were great competition in events when I was in school

Sorry I can’t help with the programs mentioned. I’ve worked with many engineers over the years that have graduated from there. Electrical, mechanical, mining and civil. All were top notch engineers. As mentioned above, bring your snowshoes!! Going to MTU will allow you to experience and live in an area where many people dream of taking a vacation! I love living in the UP!

Been looking into Michigan Tech university in Houghton, does anyone have any experience in the ecology or forestry studies? What are your options about this school? Michigan Tech is a great school. Bunch of friends went there. I went down the road to Northern Michigan in Marquette. Another solid school. Got my degree in Environmental Conservation. Going to school in the UP isn't for everyone though. Winters are long. Cool area with a lot of outdoorsy opportunities. Not so much on store/shops/restaurants/amenities. Keep in mind, Tech is like 70% guys to 30% girls. Also, not sure about natural sciences, but the engineering programs are halfway tough from a academic standpoint. Have to bring your "A" game. Good luck. Choose wisely.

https://www.esf.edu/rangerschool/I graduated from Ranger School and it is a unique educational experience. You will earn every one of the 70 credit hours you receive during the year you spend there. Transferring to a 4 year program is not a.problem.
