I store my canvas wall tent in a sealed 45 gallon drum...I set it up in the winter and with a stove inside it always gets icy. My problem is I have to bring it back to my main cabin to dry it out before it goes back into the drum and thats so much extra work and travelling...I tried hanging a barrel in a tree with numerous holes in the bottom and loosely placing the iced up tent into it but when I returned late the next summer she was still damp inside and some mildew had formed....does anyone have a trick?
Thanks

Along with the holes in the bottom I would put button vents around the upper part of the barrel. That will get the air to circulate.

I. Just checked and Home Depot has a mini 2” diameter louver vent 6 to a bag. I would install with caulk in place.

Many years ago I installed over several 1000 1" button vents to move condensation out of wall cavities. It doesn't take a very large diameter one to do the job.

There are also some products you can pre-spray on to reduce mildew.

But over the years I have not found anything better than drying tents thoroughly before putting them away. Fold loosely, place in vented drum...... and hope!
