This is my first year putting up fur and this might be a rudimentary question but… do you hang your fur head up or head down?? I got a pretty sweet grinner fleshed and on a wire stretcher and I have it nose to the floor at the moment.

Thanks and I hope everyone is seeing some tight chains!

Idk if one hangs everything nose down, but with greasy coon you need to, so the grease don't run down in the fur.

The only fur I have hung up has been coon and opossum so everything is hung nose down. It will be interesting when I get something that needs to be turned fur out midway through drying. Thanks for the reply

It's a must when hanging coon . But I also hang my rats nose down because It's easier to hang wood boards from the base.

Thanks, Beav! I only have wire stretchers at the moment but hoping to try wood stretchers next season.

Yep the real greasy ones I hang nose down
Coon possum and skunk
All the others I hang from the nose just the way I've always done it. I have slats on the ceiling with hooks every 5 to 6 inches

Anything I ever hung for drying was by the base of the the board, As "the Beav" stated, "because It's easier to hang wood boards from the base".

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.
