New trapper here. I’m setting up a few different traps for Raccoon including the following;
1.65 Bridger Coilspring Box traps 155 conibears DP Traps
Looking at add other footholds. Narrowed it down to a few choices;
1.5 Coilspring #2 Double Longspring #11 Double longspring
Which would you go with and why?

If I was starting over again,with only coons in mind,I'd go with the 11's

I prefer 11s for just coon. Tenacious holding power and nice small jaw height, and get em in double jaw if you can. Ive had pretty good luck with Duke 1.5s and bridger 1.5s also. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I used to use mostly #11's, but on land I kinda prefer 1.5s, just come up through cover better. Double jaws are a plus. Duke 1.5s are used by a lot of good coon trapper's and at the price of coon, I wouldn't be buying expensive traps for them.
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Dog proofs, #1.5 jumps, 1 longs with really stout springs (my favorite), 11’s are awesome. 1.5 coil is pretty standard.

If I was trapping coon In the water I would use a #2 sized trap and keep that coon In the water. Then you could also use that #2 sized trap for fox and coyotes. Yes the # 11 has great holding power but you have to get the critter In the trap before you can hold It. In my opinion you get way to many sprung traps and misses with those samll traps. I caught and held 5 super big coon In my coyote sets and I'm using #3s and #2s on my line and neevr lost a coon or had any bad foot damage.
For trapping coon on dry land I guess I would be using some DPs and BGs depending on your BG restrictions.

But we don't know If the OP Is trapping coon In the water or dry land. Great question! I’ll be doing a bit of both. 1.5 Dukes will be more versatile for land and water. The double jawed version is going to be best to reduce the area under the jaws where coons like to chew. If it were strictly water sets the #11 is a great trap albeit a lot more expensive.

The 1-1/2 coil spring, lightest and most versatile trap in the group!

When there was a good market I ran 11s and #1 Northwood 4 coils for dry and 1.5s for wet.
Common sense catches alot of fur.. Pay homage to all you harvest..
