I had a kind of private joke about you, which I'm about to reveal. It involves an incident you probably don't remember.

Five or six years ago, if I recall right, you got mad at me and announced on this forum that if you ever saw me in person again, you were going to give me a good piece of your mind (I'm paraphrasing). You might even have suggested you might kick my arse. You probably could do it too, lol.

I attended the NTA annual convention a few months later, and was visiting at Paul's booth when you came along and started talking to Paul and a couple other guys who were there. I was standing right next to you for a while, Paul and I trading an occasional smile. (He probably doesn't
remember this either.)

Granted, I'm not much to look at, but I was wearing a Trapperman name tag with "The Liberal" written on it.

I met you in Goshen in '05. Ate at the same table as you at the tman feed.

All I said to her is I really enjoyed reading her prose, and the next thing I knew my life was flashing before my eyes!!! Now from a safe distance, I can say I still believe she's a talented writer...

FWIW I met James in Goshen that same '05 convention. Lots of memorable events at that one.

I remember the convention in Goshen--first time in my life I ever tried 'gator was at that Tman feed. Met lots of Tman folks, some of whom are no longer around.

But I'm talking about an NTA convention around ten years after that, in Ohio. I forget the year and name of the town. The older I get, the more the years run together. Anyway, I attended the Ohio convention with my brother and dad. They were off at someone's tailgate, haggling over traps.

As for talking to Redknot, I have my own instinct about women, and that's why I didn't introduce myself. lol

I think I vaguely remember reading something about you being at a convention I was at after then. The OH conventions were Lima, but there were two in Lima so not sure which one.

There were two at Lima, soon to be number three, and two in Mansfield some years before Lima. Am I showing my age?
