I must have dipped over 10,000 In brown FORMULA ONE I haven't dipped that many in it but over a thousand easy. It's by far the best easiest way to treat a lot of snares at a time. Let em dry and go set them, they are dry in a hour typically, hard slick fast finish helps the snares fire shut even faster.

If you spray paint your snares, how long do you let them air out? Also, has anyone had any luck dipping them in Bullet Proof, FMJ, or Floor Polish? Will that seal the paint smell in? Thanks! Author Trapper. PLEASE becarefull with some of the advice you are getting. Where you MAYBE in Texas = Just do nothing OR hang them out for a few days could be terrible advice for you. Why ? Do you trap around cattle?? Machine oil on snares WILL catch a cow in a snare by the mouth! Boiled in baking soda will be a good start. I am with one of the best snare man in Texas right now. Partner up right now on some sheep. You met him at Last Texas convention. Feel free to PM me with any snare guestion that will relate to your specific country.

I dipped snares in formula 1 once. I followed instructions to the letter. I gummed up the cam locks. What went wrong? Maybe mixed a little too heavy. I add 1/2 can extra water to mine. If the cams stick a little just work them open and closed a couple time while setting, good to go.

SNIPERB. Theses are fence snares. Under the fences OK. Boil them and keep them from being shiny. BUT i get your point. SOME will not. Its a low density of cattle. Sheep are the primary goal Id clarify that more. Woven wire/predator fences you can get away with on cattle for the most part. Barb wire or electric(high tensile) fences are still problematic for livestock .

Most of the land I'm trapping has no cattle, but one property does. I'm mainly doing trail snaring.
