Finally got a lil spot where there's active beavers. Water isn't very deep and lots of tangles so ruled out footholds and I'm just not a BG guy broke out the snares and tried doing a few sets that mad sense. Saw some repair in the dam ( the whole left side of this is a dam) where there was fresh mud so I just broke I'm enough to get some water flowing added a little lure on a stick in the break and slapped a snare in front of it.
Snares are 5/64th 1x19 loops #6 barrel swivel 3/32 7x7 pig tail and extensions.
And what here's some pics lemme know what ya think

I think you will get one.

Look good to me, I really miss having watersheds to trap. Or even have neighbors with some water and I would release some beavers and rats lol.

Looks good from what I can see. Trapping photos aren’t always easy to see important details.

When I set snares in the water near the bank, I always scoop out underneath them. Other people may have different goals, but I want my beaver swimming.

Good luck

Last picture, without scale, looks like the snare is too close to the bank for me. I dont want the snare within 18" of the waterline either way. Not that closer wont catch beaver, you just lose predictably of whether its swimming or walking.

Had one pulled my stake on the set in the bottom picture first night and a knock down on the first snare pictured. Doubled up on my anchoring and tried to make the breaks a little more pronounced but nothing tired

Been like this for two days after the knock down. Theirs a stick with a food lures and a mud clum with some castor based lure on it both about a foot from the snare. I scooped out under bed the snare so he should just float into it. Idk boys I'm starting to think I'm bad luck or something crazy

Stick with it, if it were easy, beaver would be extinct!
