Just got a text, the company I drive PT for is giving employees a fresh turkey on Wednesday. Will I have to claim that on my taxes?

Sounds petty but I once worked for a huge company that included such giveaways as compensation. The taxes on a $20 turkey or nominal though.

Yes its a capital gains tax after eating keep your scat as you can use it aS A DEDUCTION

No and they don't have to send you a 1099 if the amount is below a specific amount and the turkey does not reach that. Now if you were paid wages and got a W-2 for wages etc. then yes.

I worked for a company for 16 years who gave turkeys every year. We never paid any tax and the company never issued a 1099.

Don’t complicate it. Enjoy your free turkey.

just serve it on a tooth pick , politicians only have to claim meals not served on toothpicks


food , doesn't need to get claimed the company can feed you lunch every day of the week and write it off.
