This is a total shot in the dark, but maybe some of you Ohio guys may know or known a W.G. Robbins? I have a trap in my collection that has property of Ohio and his name stamped. I'm assuming this was quite a while ago as its a triumph #3. I've done some searching but coming up blank, I'm just interested in what type of program the trap may have been used in and when.

I don't remember any state trappers per say .
It may just be his trap tag with his name and the state he's from .
Ohio used to require ( still does ) name and address , now it's your Sportsman ID number if you prefer .

its not a tag its a actual stamp in the trap "Property of Ohio". I grew up there and remember the trap tag requirement it's not that.

Some trappers did that to prove it's their trap if found in someone's possession , you can't just take the tag off .
Know some trappers that marked their traps with a special mark somewhere on the trap .
