I've had better luck with fox meat over coyote meat.
But it gets cold enough they eat about anything ( bait station).
Let me sugar coat this

The brains well make a much better bait than anything mentioned Yes sir, Do you have a preference for a certain type of animal brains over another? I’ve seen many lure formulas including deer brains or sheep brains, and even brains of a burro. Just wondering, is one noticeably better than another? Or are brains brains? Matt

I've used pig, deer and coyote. I can't tell any difference but haven't tested them side by side. From what I've read about brain material I'm under the impression brains are brains. Are you using them as an addition to bait, as a stand alone, or in lure formulation? Aged or fresh? Sorry for the hijack High-Desert, I just like to scoop up any crumbs I can find! Matt

My son shot a buck a few days ago. I’m gonna have to go dig out the brains! Thank you very much for the tips! I've used them aged as an addition to a lure but the majority of time I preserve them fresh. Brains are very palatable to predators and are a very good base by themselves for a bait. They also have several qualities that make them a great base for a lure or an additive to a formulation. My understanding is brain material is mostly a fatty material that is highly digestible by predators unlike most other forms of fat. They break down very fast when aging and get rather watery and that is why I prefer them preserved fresh.

I added horse brains to some of my baits and had good results.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

Any way of preserving brain? It’s hot down here and we have ants. My biggest problem is owls and mice. SB will do the trick. Run it through a blender or let it age for about a week and stir it up . It will turn a consistency of thin ketchup and will probably soak in to what ever you put it on at the set so mice and ants hopefully would steal it all.
