This is a federal job. Which means you have to pass a back ground check and have to be able to be able to use a firearm. I can answer some questions but the district supervisor is the one posting the job. The job is the county just west of my county here in eastern Oregon.

I got the notice, gs 4,5 or 6 depending on experience and education.

Just curious. I am in NC and too old, but wonder if the government does drug testing for this position.

Why is the position open for only 1 week...? Typically, if we are advertising a position with a short window such as 2 weeks, we already have a candidate in mind.

Red, From from what I saw they give you some traps. How many ad what is yet to be known.
Charles Yes, They can call and tell you to go pee at any time and it seems like you have to when you sign on. You have to report in and pee the day they call.

MJM- Yeah, there may have been an initial drug test if I remember but haven't had one since. Then again, I'm not "law enforcement". Most of my agency is still in office "exile" mode and working from home. Its a weird life they have created...

For my agency at least only certain jobs have drug testing and maybe if you get hurt.

Pc they have someone in mind for the job . Good or bad who knows but its hard if there's someone doing the job but as a seasonal who can't get it.

I worked for WS for ten years and got all in about a half dozen times. I was use to it from being in the military. Maybe my boss thought I had to be on drugs. I don't know who else was called in. All I know as he would call and tell me to go pee before 05:00 PM .

Mike, the feds still recognize marijuana as illegal. It won’t be tolerated.

There is no one in mind for the job it is open for the best candidate. Why so much speculation, if you are not interested don't apply, if you have questions call the district supervisory and ask. equipment is supplied.
