scootermac I hope they do for you!!! Last week I got a moose from the Troopers and since it was -20's I decided to wait to go get it until it warmed up a spell. Chainsaws and blood at freezing temps like that in the past have made a huge mess. So I headed out today +22 with the hope it was froze solid and the plan was to top off two jackpots and a bait station. Well the best laid plans dont always work. Had to call the wife and have her bring out another chainsaw as the one I had with me decided to blow a cylinder. After I got the other chainsaw things went smooth and quick. Took the first load and topped off the jackpots. Went back and got the second load and headed out to my biggest bait station. When I walked in I saw something big off to my right and my first thought was "Oh great a freaking eagle,,,,, " As I got closer through the spruce this is what I found Now I might get lucky and have a wolf come through once a year but it is always random and never the same route, so this really tickled me Well furred 70 lbs female For my yote snares I run 11 gauge wire and not 9. The ones with pigtails I always do 7 wraps. This was a 3/32 x 1/19 with a slim loc and Senneker kill spring. I got lucky that she wrapped up quick! Be safe out there guys!

Nice wolf HFT,good colour on the belly(no red stain). I never trust wire to tie off for wolf,I always use cable extension safety. But I guess you got him in a coyote snare?
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Thanks guys Boco yes it was a yote snare. I had raised all my snares up prior to the last big dump of snow that never happened and decided just to leave them alone instead of adjusting them. smalltime, yeah she hit the right snare for sure! I got lucky with that one but aint complaining. Now if I can just get one to step in a trap....

Nice wolf John and I'm glad that pigtail held on. My experience has been that wolves tend to go down a lot quicker than coyotes since they're so much bigger they cinch the snare down so much harder.
