We just got a snowstorm yesterday and I found a fox trail on the back of my property. Went to a couple choke points on the trail and put 1.5’s in the ground. Also made a dirt hole set in the area of the opening where he comes out of the brush. First time really trying this. How do the sets look? They’re bedded pretty solid my only concern is freezing. Didn’t have waxed dirt. I wasn’t planning on predator trapping this year. Getting a fox is definitely one of my goals as a trapper.

Look like nice spots. You're setting on sign that's the first thing . Lots of options to prevent freeze up. You'll have to use one if freeze/thaw conditions are what you have
Wax dirt or sand
Salt
Peat
Baggies
Hay
Grass
And many more....

Thank you!

I was thinking of flat sets as well. Beaver meat covered with hay and just laying footholds in the hay. Thoughts?
