How much heavy do you reckon a weight has to be to keep a coon in one spot? There is a culvert with a concrete bottom on my line that I want to set in the culvert, so earth anchors is out of the question and the water isn't deep enough for a drowning rig. Plus, there's nothing to secure the "dry end" of the drowning line to. At the end of the culvert is an electric fence so I can't have the coon dragging the weight very far. I've got some cinder blocks I could use, but wondering if that's heavy enough, or if simply a rock from the area would do.

Full two hole cinder block should work. I wouldn't use a rock unless it was quite large. I have some blocks I've used year after year.

I have used a full 2 hole block, with the trap set inside one hole. When I get there, I'll find the coon with it's head stuffed in one of the holes, fast asleep.

A 3 hole might work but is the concrete is wet a big boar can pull a 2 hole block.
