I put up a coyote last week and i usually scrape them well but i felt i was scraping too much so this one i didn't get the membrane off and there is a good bit of fat under it and its not drying like it should. Is there any saving this or should i scrap it ? Can i rehydrate the hide and start over?

If you put it up last week, the only thing you can do now is scud the fat out from under the saddle with a dull scraper.Check first to make sure the hair is not slipping. If it is turned already fur out and the fur is not slipping put a fan on it and just leave it.

Ok thank you Boco. Can i moisten the head so i can turn it? I've always been rite on top of my put up but this season I'm in a new fur shed and the heat situation is not the best so i moved into an un heated basement so my drying time is much longer than I'm used to. I give you all credit that put up fur in 50° sheds cause its definitely new to me.

Yes,you can wrap the head in a wet(damp) towel to soften it if it has dried hard.
To dry fur properly at lower temps you need low humidity.Low temps with high humidity will cause problems.

I just feel like when i flesh all the fat off them i start pulling the hair through the hide. So im just trying to find that fine line i guess.

Coyotes are like otter, you need to get the membrane off to get at the fat.
