I am going to be about an hour or so from Groeny’s fur company and was going to cash in some pelts Monday morning.I called to make sure they were going to be open and see if they wanted fur frozen or thawed.Then they started talking prices- not good.Big rats $2 or $3 Beaver $6 and down.Skun prices.Local buyer looking good all of a sudden.Anybody have any better news?

$2 -$3 on big Wisconsin rats! Just when you think the ole china man can't get any cheaper .

Sell to Trevor Barnes, I guarantee that in this market he is paying more than most if not all. Besides, he is a very good person. He remembered my daughter from last year and she had only sold to him once. He travels to Wisconsin, not sure how close to you but you need to check it out. I believe he is making another run in February.

Something must be happening as Groeny paid $3.22 for 87 put up rats on his route in late November or early December. $5 top.

I saw a post that said Trevor paid him $2.80 stretched average on rats so that kind of scared me off.The guy 2 miles from my house is or was paying $3.25 on the carcass.

Yes the person who sold to Groeny for $3.22 on 87 rats took 97 rats to Barnes and got $2.80. That would have been about two weeks or so after the first sale.

Bryce just because he got 2 different prices doesnt mean the price is going down or something is 'happening", just might have a different price structure or
graded differently. Im my way of thinking anyhow....

A look at the results from the Mich. sale should tell You all You need to know about where the rat market is.

$3.85 sounds alot better than $2.80.

The ME sale had a $3.70 average, so in line with the MI sale.

Sold fur to local buyer last week.Everything was skun.
Beaver average $15.90-$8.53 for castor-$7.37 for pelt
Beaver were $8.00 tops $4.00 medium and$1.00 small
Castor $70.00 pound
Muskrat $3.50 with no kits graded out-maybe had one
Mink $5.00 only had bucks
Coon $4.00 large late caught-he didn’t really want them

Kinda felt like I won the lottery-haha But the kids working at McDonalds probably made more per hour.baha
