You just cant find good quality stuff anymore. That's what provoked me to do it and it galls me to see 'Made in China' on clothing lines that were established here a century ago.

Don't know if this is germane to your point, but you can buy good American made stuff. Wore carhartt for over 30 years in the Build. Trades. Till went overseas. All American clothing co. Ohio, sells top quality clothing. From jeans, shirts, underwear, socks. Double HH boots, I farm n raise cattle just tookem off still look like they did 15 yrs. ago. Belt made by the guy where I bought my boots. New balance sneakers from Mass. others lots actually out there you just have to look forem. Not to offend anyone but you just have to get out of the wall mart frame of mind. Most cost more than junk but you make up for it in the time it lasts. And you support U.S. jobs, keep our money here. Everyone saying we don't make anything anymore is just mistaken. Good luck, happy new year. Case.

I recently purchased a brand new from Filson, made in the USA Mackinaw Wool Cruiser. Also, Stormy Kromer has several of their wool products made the USA

I recently purchased a brand new from Filson, made in the USA Mackinaw Wool Cruiser. Also, Stormy Kromer has several of their wool products made the USA I bought their Double Mackinaw Cruiser new in the early eighties and it's as solid and colorful today as the day I purchased it. They go $650 new. Toss in some shipping and maybe sales tax and you're approaching $700.00. I'm new to Stormy Kromer, Nessmuck turned me on to them. I bought a hat and a vest. Good stuff. I have several Johnson Woolen Mills jackets, one I bought new. I've bought vintage stuff (60s-70s) like new for just over $100.00. They start at $250 and go up from there. I have a strong affection for Pendleton shirts, my mom always bought me one for Christmas when I was a kid. They start around $135 and go up to $180...and they're manufactured offshore. I've picked up vintage stuff like new for $30-$40. I do. Like was said you can buy vintage high quality like new stuff very reasonably priced. Abercrombie and Fitch coats, LL bean and Woolrich Chamois shirts for me. Really didn't want to sure my secret and have more competition bidding though. Lol Lots of good buys on eBay if you keep your eyes peeled. Sellers often give a 'Buy it now' option and you can dicker on the price with some. Some sellers will approach you if they've seen you looked at their item and offer a reduced price. No bidding involved. I assume eBay generates that for the seller. Hopefully you and I aren't the same size. Wasn't looking to squabble, just wondering who liked wool and took advantage of quality clothing at a good price.

Had a canvas Filson hat once. Made my head sweat even on very cold days. Wasn’t comfortable to me. Doubt it would ever wear out. That's tin cloth, not wool. I had a couple pair of their double tin cloth pants, they were so stiff you could literally stand them up. Great protection for grouse hunting.

I have the Filson Skagit jacket for waterfowl hunting. It's not vintage by any means, but I bought it because of the Filson name. It's not made in America and it shows. The main front zipper is failing and its left me wet more times than not
Gotta live up to the nickname...

I will only wear vintage! Of course they weren't vintage when I bought them, but they are now!

I believe MNMAN purchased his first set of Wooly Mammoth clothing after fire was invented and being nude was no longer acceptable. That was a while back and they are now "vintage". What's even more impressive is that they still fit.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I am always looking for Vintage Rock & Roll T Shirts if anybody has any ? Wheelers may have some Boy George shirts left from when he was a big fan. White17 strikes me as a big "Flock of Seagulls" fan too. Just a couple of leads for you.

Even though I buy Carhartt pants, I sure can't say that they are worth the money. They wear out unbelievably fast. Back when I used to wear Levi 501's I would get years out of them. I think clothing made now is engineered to wear-out fast. Have you recently bought socks at Costco? Absolute waste of money; lucky if I get more than a coupe months out of them before the heals wear through.

I believe MNMAN purchased his first set of Wooly Mammoth clothing after fire was invented and being nude was no longer acceptable. That was a while back and they are now "vintage". What's even more impressive is that they still fit. Most of the stuff this guy posts is questionable at best but this time he is spot on. I have the original wooly Mammoth clothing along with several Pendleton shirts and many pairs of wool pants and Johnson woolen Mill jackets and a Filson hat. All of these items were purchased at garage sales or flea markets at ridiculously low prices. The three pair of wool pants were a buck apiece and the Filson hat was 50 cents. The only thing that came at a price was the wooly mammoth that I had to take down with a spear. Yes, they all still fit.
