LMBO Yessir you are right. If ya wear punchy lookin footwear you might be a little safer from cactus thorns and rattlesnakes but beware of all the hot young women who will be lookin at ya like a pork chop at a barbecue cook off Lmbo As long as he doesn't tuck his pant leg in the boots. Posco, tucking your pant leg inside is a no no unless you are a old tough cowboy that can back it up or a woman.

Justin's or tony lama for dress. Leather soles can be redone twice. Good justin's or tony lama's will last ten years being resoled every three or four years. Work boots is another deal. Never liked the ariat soles. Square toe.

Mexicans make good boots. I avoid the Chinese ones. Justins still made in El Paso are decent. Tecovas are Mexican. They are pretty good. Lareados are U.S.A. made. They make a lot of slip on boots you can walk all day in. tony lamas are still american. Cody James is another Mexican boot thats decent. I advise you not to buy them online. You need to try them on. I dont think there is any sizing standard any of them adhere to.

Now when it comes to casual dress stuff. Lefty is the man to answer those questions. I doubt that he knows a thing about work boots though. Word on the street has it that he has been trying to wear out a pair of crocks for going on 5 years now. .

Ariat's are the most comfortable ones I've worn.

FWIW when I am going to be on my feet trapping working hunting fishing, whatever, I wear lace up boots. Riding boots look good when your out dancing or something. The style was designed to come out of a stirrup without hanging up and the big heel is to support a spur. Most of them have slick soles. You can find them that are decent for walking in or whatever but you dont get much ankle support.

The aria boots I had did not last a single season ... so now I bought a pair of Timberland pro boots. I only wear the pull on boots when I know I am going to be in and out of them all day. When I know that I'll be in my boots for the day, I wear Carolina loggers, But they are a pain in the stern to put on and off with a mile of lacing. once on though they are comfortable and have a good bit of support When I am at work I am mostly barefoot

I've found that riding heels are super comfortable for driving.
