I’m sure this has been answered before, but I looked and could not find anything:

I have a full time job and trap when I can. If I catch on a Sat or Sun, I skin the coyote or coon the same morning as catch.

What do I do when I catch on a weekday and don’t have time to skin prior to work? I have a freezer where I could freeze whole. Best option? If so, how long to thaw before skinning? OR, how long can I wait to skin? Same evening as catch without any freezing?

Any info is appreciated.

Hang it by a back foot in the woodshed or garage,and skin it after work in the evening-it will be fine.You can freeze the skins and put them up later.Much better to freeze skins than whole animals.
if you freeze a coyote whole it will take a couple days at room temperature to thaw enough to skin right.It only takes a few hours to thaw a rolled up hide-less if its froze flat.

I see your from SC If I were you I wouldn't hang that coyote for more then a day before I skinned It. Get the hide off as soon as possible then freeze the hide.

Uro, your best option in SC is to sell coyotes live. Your coyotes aren’t worth $5 skinned. If you’re tanning them for the wall, that’s a different story. PM me for details if you want.
