Do otter hug bottom edge bridge walls like mink do?

Absolutely use bottom edges. Whether they hug walls I can’t say, but the same underwater vertical edges that mink cut, otter cut too

They will use edge walls if deep enough but also travel through the middle of culverts/ bridges. Some otter avoid them entirely and will bypass the culverts. You will see their slides easily in the snow or mud. Bottom edge sets on cut banks of deeper creeks are also productive.

A bottom edge set will take mink, muskrat, otter and beaver. The nice thing is they will continue to work with fluctuations in water level.

Yes, I like using 160s or 220s for bottom edge sets . Pick up otter and mink.

If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

The first otter I ever caught was a 220 bottom edge set with the one spring set vertical.

I made my first bottom edge set the other day and caught my first otter in that set. I also caught three more within 25 yards of that set. This really opens up the opportunities for trapping larger creeks. Three where average size and one was a jumbo deluxe. His fur was some what course, not very nice at all. [Linked Image]

True. Unless the h20 gets so high you can't safely check the trap.
