My Bearcat is down again, and parts are backordered until who knows when. Good thing I'm not a smoker, I was mad enough to drop a cigarrette in the gas tank before I walked out yesterday, if I'd had one.

Anyways, not long ago someone on here mentioned a place back east, Minnesota or Michigan, I think, that had a huge inventory of parts sleds. A couple other people mentioned having gotten parts from them. But I can't find the post it was on for the life of me. Anybody want to chime in with what the place was called?

I think Dirt mentioned it. You might check his posts

Here is what Dirt posted.

I use MFG supply for all my sled and wheeler parts. They have a good selection of parts but can take some digging on their website. Way cheaper than any other places I have looked at . Dennis Kerk is another place I have looked before but haven't ordered anything from them. what parts are you looking for?

Countrycat, and all the other places that sell OEM parts I have checked are backordered. Yes, I believe Dirt and someone else mentioned it. I just aren't smart enough to find the right thread. Is there a way to search one users posts?

Thank you White, maybe I'm just blind because I missed the bottom of your post the first read.

Art’s snowmobile and atv in Cornnell Wisconsin might be worth checking. Was owned by Trapper Art but I believe it is still owned by family since his passing

Dennis Kirk if they are still in business. Or maybe try Fett Brothers in MN. I know they sell parts and also race Cat.

Dennis Kirk is a no. Waiting for Twisted Toy's to get back to me. I will check out the others that have been mentioned here. Have messages in with a bunch of "used snowmobile parts places", but most don't have much for utility sleds, and most don't bother to get back with you; return calls or emails.

KSL classifieds had a Bearcat that sold just a few days ago. Needed some work but would have made a good parts sled. You really need to keep an eye on there. Utah is a lot closer than MN or Alaska

It's a 2012 z1 xt, If your 2010 is the Z1 with the fourstroke it'll have what I need. grin 09-14 Bearcat Z1's and 07-13 F5's ran the same Diamond Drive.

Ok. I thought maybe you had an older model cause I do have some spare parts for old models with chains. My 2010 is a 570 and runs strong. I have about 11,000 miles and haven’t had a problem with diamond drive. One of my friend in a village outside of kotzebue went over 25,000 miles with his bearcat 570 with diamond drive. I don’t know if anyone that has had problems with theirs. I haven’t even changed the oil in mine. Sorry, I thought I was going to be able to help.

I figured you might have the 570, they seem more popular. I haven't had problems with the motor on mine, but the Diamond Drive has had issues, and with only 6500 miles I've replaced all the bogie wheels, some twice, tie rod ends, secondary clutch, kill switch, starter, broke shocks on it twice and replaced two A-arms, as well as other miscellanous small stuff I can't recall. And the track is about shot already. It seems to be just a constant breakdown, and the electrical/computer system on it isn't great either, constantly throwing various codes and sensors going bad. Just doesn't seem built to last.

After putting a fan and radiator on it and the workhorse gears I really wanted to like it, most comfortable machine I've ever rode. Just not reliable, something is constantly breaking down on it. Maybe it wasn't really built for the extra power and weight of the big 1100cc four stroke, I don't know.

And Alaska Snowmobile Salvage had one! Spent a half hour on hold but it is in the mail. Thanks nolluk, I've called probably forty or fifty places looking for one.

I had one the first year of the 4 stroke. Too tippy. Sold it and the buyer worked it to its death and the frame is what went. Not strong enough.

I have a 570 with the diamond drive. What was the problem you had with the diamond drive, just curious?

Dang Bearcat2 , I have an 04 660 non turbo and 2nd owner. I have only had one starter and 2 batteries go bad on mine. I have no idea on miles simce the odometer has been broken for many years. I am getting ready to replace the hyfax on it and daughter smoked the belt the other day. It has the Suzuki engine and was a pain finding the right starter that didn't cost more than I paid for the sled.Glad you found the parts you needed.
I keep thinking about replacing both my machines but like the older ones with less computer electric components. I run 2 04s the bearcat and a skidoo summit 600 .

Oh Snap, the shift fork broke, sheared right off. Second one I've had break. But the first one broke where I could take the secondary off and use a screwdriver to shift it into forward and leave it there. this one broke inside the case and there is nothing holding it in gear then except tension on the gears from acceleration or deceleration. I had it come out of gear while driving. Actually I think what it did was shift halfway between forward and reverse, rather than being in neutral, it was like you had the parking brake on, hit the throttle and it just smoked the belt, wouldn't try to turn the track, was locked up inside the Diamond Drive. Took the cover off and of course the shift fork is stuck in the cover with an o-ring, so I as I pulled the cover off it pulled out and shifted it back into forward, put it back together and limped it out.
I've also had seals go out on the Diamond Drive, I've heard of people having bearing issues, but when I installed the workhorse gears they came with upgraded bearings and I've never had any. Gears and bearings look like brand new, I really like the idea of a gear driven rather than chain driven, seems like it should be much stronger and less prone to breakage. But I've never had a problem with the chain drive on any of my old skidoos (granted the old Tundras didn't have enough power to break anything) and have never had or seen a breakage in the chain drive of anything I've ever rode or been around. A friend did blow up the transmission in an early 2000's Skandic, but that was because he never checked the fluid in it after he bought it at auction and it didn't have any.
