Red #40 of the season this morning on my small coyote line. It has been a great year for fox here both red and grey. I can't keep them out of my coyote sets. grin coyotes are real thin around here this year and the farmers are happy.i generally catch around 40 coyotes a year on a pretty small line and so far this year I've caught 6. Absolutely tons of fox tracks all over this morning in the fresh snow and not one coyote track. It is so nice to see fox around again. I have released 37 of the 40 reds I've caught so far this year and released 6 of the 7 Grey's. Tight chains everyone.

Chad, that's like the ghost racoon.

Mole,
One of the very few reasons I'd like to be still in NY is that I could catch fishers right around my house. 30 years ago they were only in the northern zone. We did have a lot of grey fox back then. None here.

Caught red number 41 on the year this morning but the coyotes got to her before me and had her belly all tore out and bites all over. Couldn't get the .204 out of the gun rack quick enough to at least shoot one of them before they retreated.i would've released the poor girl but she wasn't going to survive that.

Are you allowed to sell the pelts when trapping those Mink? Does the government (or some other entity) pay a bounty?

No market here for fur unfortunately. Yes the government gives a small bounty on mink. They want to eradicate them.

That picture was taken on the Clodiagh River Boco. I mainly trap that river, the Brosna, and Silver river, in Co Offaly. They all lead into the river Shannon.

Nice catch Vegas Jim.
Neck Snares are an excellent tool for cats-very humane on account of cats physiology.

I thought so too, pretty darn clean considering we got several inches of rain the night he was caught.

One cat out of two snares is pretty good odds. Great job.

May God bless you and yours
