Using borrowed mb 550s this year and am looking to buy my own this summer. Should I go with the mb 550 or the j9 extreme Jr?

Properly used you canít go gone with either. Chevy is better than Ford. Ford is better than Dodge, Dodge is better than Nissan. Nissan is better than Toyota. Blah blah blah. Itís all about marketing

080808 is correct. Or hold on there will be many inputs on this with a few different brands added.

Are you happy with the traps you are using? Feel confident with them? You could buy a sample trap of the other brands that Iím sure will be recommended here and decide which one seems to be the best for you. Thatís pretty much how I settled on the brand I use.

Both are great traps and will get the job done well. Biggest deciding point is do you want dog on or dogless. Myself if I was retooling my traps I'd go dogless on k9 traps.

Canít go wrong but I went dogless and Iím never going back. So K9s for me. Nothing against the 550.

I personally like the Bridger #2 dogless for canines.

If choosing a dogless trap you may want to consider the Bridger dogless as the pan tension is easily adjustable with a nut/bolt.

The Victor/Montgomery dogless doesnt have a nut/bolt pan tension adjustment....to my knowledge.

Just my 2 cents...

I have number2 Bridger dogless and mb550 both have their pros and cons,

the Mb 550 have nice wide jaws the bridgers don't,

then agin the bridgers have a bigger pan and are dogless

the mb aren't, so you really have to test them out for your self.
